Official: Bolivian international Yasmani Duk joins Cosmos on loan
The New York Cosmos announced the signing of Yasmani Duk today, putting an end to a waiting period that began a month ago. Terms of the deal were not announced by the team, but the player and his agent had previously stated that the the deal would be for a one-year loan with an option for the club to buy his contract.
Duk is a 27-year-old Bolivian striker who most recently played for Sport Boys Warnes, where he appeared in 14 matches and scored 5 goals, helping them to a Torneo Arpertura title and qualification for the 2017 Copa Libertadores.
Duk spent the bulk of his career playing for Oriente Petrolero, with the organization from 2010-2015, with a loan stint spent at La Paz FC for the 2012-2013 season. Prior to the loan, he averaged a handful of appearances per season for Petrolero, but after a 38 game start, 7 goal performance at La Paz, he played a bigger part with parent team with 35 games, 9 goals in 2013-14 and 26 games, 12 goals in 2014-15. He also saw time in the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana across the last two seasons.
