Fall Week 3: Midfield Press Goal Of The Week

Welcome to Midfield Press’ Goal of the Week! After each week of play, the writers of MP will come together to nominate and deliberate on the week’s most impressive goals.

#3: Richie Ryan (Ottawa Fury vs. Indy Eleven)

Indy’s keeper was left standing with his head hanging as Ryan was clinical in sending a dipping free kick over the wall for a goal. Ice cold.

#2: César Elizondo (Carolina Railhawks vs. San Antonio Scorpions)

After a great free kick from his teammate in front of the Railhawk’s penalty area, Elizondo of the Scorpions did an excellent job of getting in front of the defender and making just enough contact to change the direction of the ball and into the back of the net.

And the winner is…

#1 Jaime Chávez (Fort Lauderdale Strikers vs. Atlanta Silverbacks)

While maybe not quite as impressive as others, it’s a bicycle kick. Come on, man.
